National Bank of Greece and Athens Municipality reach property deal

The National Bank of Greece and the Municipality of Athens have signed a memorandum of cooperation to resolve long-standing disputes regarding seven properties. This agreement ends at least three decades of legal and administrative issues.

The deal involves one expropriation, four donations, two sales, and the allocation of parking spaces at Kozia Square. The properties are designated for various urban improvements, including:

• A site in Elaionas for the Botanical Garden Double Redevelopment project. • Green spaces at Acharnon 373 and Alkiviadou 21. • Sports facilities at Strephi Hill and Paraskevopoulou 154. • A pedestrian strip on Panepistimio Street. • A public space at Mitropoleos Square.

These developments aim to enhance green areas, sports facilities, and recreational spaces, contributing to the overall quality of life for Athens residents and supporting major urban redevelopment projects.
