National Bank of Greece and Skroutz mark one year of Skroutz Plus Mastercard
National Bank of Greece and Skroutz have marked the first anniversary of the Skroutz Plus Mastercard, a digital credit card developed through their partnership. During a commemorative event, the companies presented results showing that thousands of consumers have adopted the card, with total rewards exceeding 100,000 euros.
The card offers a fully digital issuance process via internet and mobile banking, with immediate integration into digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Wallet. The reward model provides a 2.5% reward for purchases made on Skroutz and 0.5% for all other expenditures, which can be used for future purchases. Additional features include interest-free installments and free travel insurance.
Christina Theofilidi, General Manager of Retail Banking at National Bank of Greece, noted that the market's warm reception demonstrates how digital banking and e-commerce can be combined to provide speed, security, and value. Skroutz CFO Kostas Kontogiannis added that the strategic collaboration has translated into tangible value for consumers by extending the benefits of the Skroutz Plus service to everyday shopping.
