National Bank of Malawi increases Scorchers sponsorship to K1.3 billion

National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has increased its sponsorship of the Malawi National Women Football team, known as the Scorchers, from K150 million to K1.3 billion. The bank is providing this support as the team prepares to face Zimbabwe in an Olympic qualifier at Bingu National Stadium.

NBM plc officials expressed confidence in the team following their recent performance as runners-up at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The bank has launched various engagement initiatives, including a trivia campaign, to build excitement and encourage public attendance for the upcoming match. The return leg of the qualifier is scheduled for October 13 in Harare.
