National Bank of Malawi launches second Under-23 football season
National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc is set to launch the second season of its Under-23 NBM Championship at Rumphi Stadium this Sunday. The tournament returns with a K600 million allocation as part of the bank’s new football sponsorship package designed to support grassroots development.
The championship aims to provide young players with structured competition and a pathway to professional football. The launch event will feature a match between Young Challenges Reserve and Mkombezi Tough Challenges Reserve.
According to Akossa Mphepo-Hiwa, NBM plc Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager, the investment is part of a broader strategy to nurture emerging talent beyond senior national teams. The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has confirmed that preparations for the event in the Northern Region are complete.
