National Bank of Pakistan President Rehmat Ali Hasnie concludes tenure

Rehmat Ali Hasnie’s tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) concluded on Friday, August 21, 2026. The bank notified the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) of the expiration of his term.

Hasnie had been serving in the permanent role since August 2023, following a period as Acting President that began in May 2022. To ensure leadership continuity while arrangements for a successor were finalized, the federal government had previously granted a two-week extension to his term, effective from August 7, 2026.

A seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience, Hasnie joined NBP in 2010. His previous roles at the bank included heading investment banking, corporate banking, and priority sector lending operations.
