National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic partners with CertiK for digital asset security

The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic (NBKR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with blockchain security firm CertiK to establish a strategic partnership focused on the security and oversight of the Digital Som.

The collaboration aims to enhance cybersecurity, risk management, and regulatory oversight for the country’s digital assets. Key areas of cooperation include blockchain security, formal verification, anti-money laundering (AML), and counter-financing of terrorism (CFT) controls. CertiK will provide technical and strategic support to assist the NBKR in developing a secure digital asset ecosystem, emphasizing the integration of security measures from the earliest design stages of the infrastructure.

Sanzhar Abdygaziev, a member of the NBKR Management Board, noted the value in exchanging expertise regarding digital asset transactions and monitoring. The partnership is intended to serve as a model for technical integration within highly regulated central bank environments.
