National Cinema Museum hosts T. rex fossil and film exhibition

The National Cinema Museum in Turin is hosting a new exhibition titled ‘T. rex vs. T. rex. From fossils to cinema icons’, running from November 19, 2026, to January 31, 2028. Located within the Mole Antonelliana, the exhibit features two T. rex skeletons displayed facing one another.

The exhibition aims to bridge the gap between paleontology and film history, exploring how the dinosaur has become a powerful symbol in visual culture and cinema over the last century. This arrangement was made possible through a collaboration with the Theatrum Mundi gallery, which also provided various objects for the display.

Museum officials Enzo Ghigo and Carlo Chatrian described the event as an unprecedented meeting between the remote past and contemporary imagination. Turin Mayor Stefano Lo Russo noted that the exhibition demonstrates the museum's ability to engage diverse audiences by connecting science with cinematic imagery.
