National Cinema Weekend offers discounted tickets in UK and Ireland

National Cinema Weekend is taking place on Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, offering audiences reduced-price access to films across the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In the UK, Vue is offering £4 tickets for all films and seats during the two-day event. The lineup includes various genres, ranging from summer hits like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey to family films such as Toy Story 5 and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Horror enthusiasts can also access new releases like Insidious: Out of the Further.

In Ireland, the initiative is supported by Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland. Approximately 99% of cinemas in the Republic of Ireland are participating, with some locations like Eclipse Cinemas offering tickets starting from €5. The event has been expanded from a single day to a full weekend following previous successes that saw over 200,000 admissions in a single day. Participating Irish cinemas will also provide additional accessibility options, including sensory, subtitled, and captioned screenings.
