National Coalition demands investigation into West Coast military setbacks

The National Coalition for Political Parties and Components has called on Yemen's political leadership to form a fact-finding committee to investigate recent military setbacks on the West Coast front. The coalition seeks to identify the causes of the Houthi militia's recent advances and ensure accountability for any negligence or failures that enabled these developments.

In a statement, the coalition described the recent losses as a “transient station” in the broader struggle to restore the state and liberate Yemeni territory. They emphasized that military retreats do not signify a collapse of national will, noting that government forces currently possess improved weaponry, organization, and combat experience compared to previous years.

The coalition urged the government to prioritize military readiness and increase support for active combat fronts to maintain momentum toward reclaiming Sana'a. Additionally, they called for the rapid establishment of an independent telecommunications network to protect information security and prevent Houthi control and extortion over the sector.

The statement also expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia, condemning attacks on Saudi oil lines linked to Iranian-backed projects, and reaffirmed support for the coalition of countries assisting the Yemeni government.
