National Council for Persons with Disabilities holds awareness seminar
To mark World Cerebral Palsy Day, the National Council for Persons with Disabilities organized an awareness seminar at the Wahat Nour El Hayah Association in Maadi. The event focused on the critical role families play in the rehabilitation and social integration of individuals with disabilities.
Experts discussed the distinction between providing basic care and empowering children by encouraging independence rather than overprotection. The seminar also addressed legal rights under Law No. 10 of 2018 and the importance of the Integrated Services Card. This card serves as official proof of the type and degree of disability, enabling access to various services and benefits. Detailed guidance was provided on the application process, medical examinations, and overcoming common administrative obstacles encountered when obtaining the card.
