National Council for Persons with Disabilities inspects Alexandria beach
Dr. Eman Karim, General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, inspected the ‘Heroes of Challenge’ beach in the Anfushey area of Alexandria. The visit was part of a field tour to monitor the quality of services provided to people with disabilities and ensure the implementation of accessibility standards to guarantee equal rights to social and recreational participation.
During the visit, several awareness activities were conducted, including first aid training by the Egyptian Red Crescent and a workshop on self-care focused on mental and social health. A listening session was held in cooperation with the Al-Amal Village Association to identify challenges faced by families in accessing services and obtaining integrated service cards.
The session emphasized the importance of coordinating with executive authorities to remove obstacles for beneficiaries. It also highlighted the National Council’s role in policy-making and the ‘My Family is My Strength’ national initiative, which aims to support families as key partners in the integration and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
