National Democratic Congress opens 2026 election nominations

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that nominations for its 2026 Constituency Executive Elections will open on Tuesday, September 15. The announcement, issued by Deputy General Secretary Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, marks a significant milestone in the party's internal electoral process.

To participate as an aspirant, proposer, seconder, or endorser, members must be in good standing. This requires proof of fully paid membership dues for each of the past four years. Members with outstanding arrears must settle them through designated party channels to be eligible. Additionally, all payments for nomination forms must be processed exclusively through the party's online portal via mobile money.

The opening of nominations also signals the start of the campaign season for positions at the constituency, regional, and national levels. However, the party noted a specific exclusion: the campaign window does not apply to individuals with parliamentary ambitions, including sitting Members of Parliament or those who have signaled an intention to contest parliamentary seats.
