National Eisteddfod of Wales staged at Garreg Las in August 2026

The National Eisteddfod of Wales will take place in the Garreg Las area of north Pembrokeshire, south Ceredigion and west Carmarthenshire from 1–8 August 2026, marking the 850th anniversary of the first eisteddfod held at Cardigan Castle in 1176. The week‑long festival will feature music, poetry, arts and a free shuttle service between Cardigan and the Maes, with additional transport information and accommodation details published on the event website.

The Football Association of Wales will run a dedicated stall at the Maes, offering free gifts, exclusive merchandise and the Novira Cymru Premier trophy for selfies. High‑profile guests include Wales women’s national team coach Rhian Wilkinson, Haverfordwest County players, and former international Joe Allen, who will be honoured alongside captain Angharad James for their contributions to football and the Welsh language.
