National Energy Efficiency Olympiad 2026 targets students and teachers in Brazil
The National Energy Efficiency Olympiad (ONEE) 2026 is mobilizing students and educators across Brazil to promote sustainable and conscious electricity consumption. The initiative is promoted by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) through the Energy Efficiency Program (PEE), with Equatorial Piauí acting as the proposing company and coordination by the Abradee Institute.
In Itaituba, Equatorial Pará recently conducted an outreach campaign at the Marechal Rondon Basic Education School to encourage student participation. The competition is open to students in the 8th and 9th grades of elementary school and the 1st and 2nd years of high school from both public and private networks. Registration is free and remains open until September 15.
Beyond student participation, the 2026 edition has allocated over R$ 250,000 to reward teachers. Prizes include trips to Brasília for the National Award Ceremony, vouchers, and participation in the BETT Brasil 2027 innovation event. Teachers will be recognized in four categories based on school engagement and pedagogical work.
