National exam updates reported in Portugal and Brazil

In Portugal, data from the Ministry of Education reveals a 49.6% absenteeism rate during the extraordinary session of national secondary school exams. Out of nearly 44,000 students enrolled in the special session—created to mitigate technical issues during the first phase of digital evaluations—only 22,101 attended the exams held between September 3 and September 8. High absence rates were noted in several subjects, most notably History A with a 62.8% absence rate, followed by Portuguese with 59.6% absences and Physics and Chemistry A with 46.5%.

In Brazil, the National Medical Training Assessment (Enamed) has released the locations and schedules for the upcoming exam scheduled for September 13, 2026. Students can verify their details through the Enamed System. The assessment is slated for a major restructuring in 2027, which will transition the exam to a semiannual format that integrates the National Student Performance Exam (Enade) and the objective phase of the Revalida process to better align with the requirements of the Unified Health System (SUS).
