National Foundation for Civil Society distributed 14.3 million euros

The National Foundation for the Development of Civil Society distributed 14.3 million euros last year to support 603 approved projects. These initiatives focused on democratization, civil society development, organizational and regional growth, knowledge centers, and volunteering.

According to the annual report signed by Director Cvjetana Plavša-Matić, the investments resulted in measurable changes to Croatian society and the economy. Specifically, 489 of the supported projects secured employment and salaries for 1,147 individuals, contributing approximately 4.2 million euros in taxes to the state budget.

The report also highlighted significant volunteer engagement, with over 27,000 volunteers contributing more than 661,000 working hours. The estimated value of this volunteer work is approximately 4.7 million euros based on average Croatian hourly rates.

Of the 603 supported projects, 357 were institutional grants aimed at the three-year stabilization and organizational development of associations. Additionally, the Foundation oversaw inter-ministerial cooperation involving funds from the Ministry of Croatian Veterans for war veteran associations and the Ministry of Economy for consumer protection associations.
