National Green Tribunal to host international climate conference

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) will host an international conference titled ‘The Future of Environment and Climate Dynamics’ in New Delhi on September 19 and 20. The event aims to address emerging challenges in climate change, environmental governance, and environmental justice.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the conference, with President Droupadi Murmu serving as the chief guest for the valedictory session. The gathering will include judges, judicial representatives, and environmental experts from 17 countries, alongside senior Indian officials such as the Chief Justice of India and the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

The conference seeks to facilitate the exchange of scientific knowledge and judicial approaches across different jurisdictions, focusing on gaps in policy formulation, implementation, and enforcement.
