National Guard launches anti-theft operation in Querétaro and Guanajuato

The National Guard has launched the ‘Zero Cargo Theft Special Command’ operation to combat vehicle theft on federal highways in the Mexican states of Querétaro and Guanajuato. Led by Brigadier General Iván Navarrete Torres, the strategy involves continuous 24-hour surveillance through patrols and fixed checkpoints.

The operation is a coordinated effort between the National Guard, the Mexican Army, and other agencies. It aims to protect the industrial and logistical corridor, prioritizing the safety of drivers followed by the security of goods. In Guanajuato, surveillance will be diversified across various routes, while in Querétaro, focus will remain on Federal Highway 57.

The strategy includes immediate incident response and permanent communication with transport associations and business owners to facilitate reporting and recovery efforts. When a theft is reported, deployed services are alerted to locate and recover the unit.
