National Heritage Institute offers free entry to Czech monuments

The National Heritage Institute (NPÚ) is offering free admission to selected state-managed monuments in the Czech Republic on two specific Sundays: August 30 and September 27, 2026.

The initiative includes a wide range of sites beyond traditional castles and chateaus, such as gardens, monasteries, hospitals, and technical monuments. Due to high demand, many popular dates are already fully booked, though availability remains for some sites, particularly for the September date.

Visitors cannot simply walk in; free entry requires a pre-booked ticket through the official NPÚ website. Each tour has a limited capacity, and visitors are encouraged to reserve their specific time slots in advance.
