National Highway 1A overhaul planned for Nghệ An and Hà Tĩnh

Cienco4 Group is preparing to launch a major overhaul project for a 35.1km section of National Highway 1A, spanning from south of Ben Thuy Bridge to the Ha Tinh City bypass in Vietnam.

The project, which includes Nghệ An and Hà Tĩnh provinces, is being developed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. Design documents are expected to be submitted to the Vietnam Road Administration by October 20, 2026, with construction slated to begin in November 2026 and continue through 2027.

The investor noted that revenue decreases—caused by toll reductions in 2017, the opening of alternative routes like the North-South expressway, and other traffic diversions—have necessitated new solutions for mobilizing capital to complete this essential maintenance.
