National Historical Museum director calls for protection amid protests
Elenita Roshi, the director of the National Historical Museum, has issued an appeal for the protection of the institution following attempts by protesters to target its premises. Roshi emphasized that the museum is a vital pillar of Albanian national identity and collective memory, serving as a witness to both difficult historical periods and moments of national pride.
As the museum approaches its 45th anniversary, having been established on October 28, 1981, Roshi stressed that preserving the institution is essential for passing historical, cultural, and identity values to future generations. She noted that the museum functions not only as an exhibition space but as a critical site for understanding historical processes through its collections of objects and documents.
