National Immigrant Festival generates nearly $1 billion in Oberá

The 46th National Immigrant Festival, held in Oberá from September 3 to 13, generated an economic impact of approximately $985 million, according to a new study. The evaluation was conducted by the Misiones State Secretariat of Culture in collaboration with the National University of Misiones (UNaM) through the i+data Program.

The scientific study revealed that every peso of public investment was associated with between $5.8 and $10.4 of new economic activity. The findings were presented by officials including Culture Minister Joselo Schuap, Federation of Collectivities President Marta Wieremiey, and Mayor Pablo Hassan.

The evaluation system, which utilized three independent sources and included data from 712 attendees, has been validated and will be made available for replication in other popular festivals throughout the province.
