National Institute of Agricultural Sciences expands satellite use for seed management

The National Institute of Agricultural Sciences has revised its business agreement with the National Seed Resources to expand the use of the Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries Satellite (Next-Generation Medium Satellite No. 4) in seed production and management.

The collaboration aims to utilize satellite imagery for monitoring the growth and management of seed production fields, establishing models for growth and harvest periods, and estimating production yields and damage caused by meteorological disasters. By using satellite data, authorities can continuously observe seed fields across large areas to supplement on-site inspections and quickly identify affected areas during natural disasters.
