National Intelligence Academy report analyzes Israeli expansionism

The National Intelligence Academy (MİA) has released a report titled ‘Anatomy of Israeli Expansionism,’ which examines the historical, ideological, and military foundations of Israel's regional policies. The report asserts that following the October 7 attacks, Israel's expansionist strategy has entered a new phase characterized by what it describes as genocide in Gaza.

According to MİA President Prof. Dr. Talha Köse, Israel's actions in Gaza, the administrative annexation in the West Bank, and aggression toward Lebanon and Syria are contributing to global instability. The report highlights a fundamental difference in security philosophies: while Turkey's security approach is based on strengthening the sovereignty and territorial integrity of regional states, Israel's policy is built upon maintaining surrounding actors in a weak, fragmented, and vulnerable state.

The study further notes that the rise of radical right and settler movements within Israel's political and bureaucratic structures has turned expansionist demands into state policy. It also addresses Israel's structural dependence on the United States and suggests that Turkey's 'Terror-Free Region' vision is a critical strategic necessity to prevent external actors from exploiting ethnic differences and security gaps.
