National Justice Conference addresses missing persons and forensics

The LIV Plenary Assembly of the National Conference of Justice Prosecution (CNPJ) was held in Nayarit, led by Mexico’s Attorney General, Ernestina Godoy Ramos. The assembly brought together justice officials from across the country to coordinate national strategies on critical security issues.

Key priorities discussed include the search and identification of missing persons, strengthening forensic capabilities, combating feminicide, and investigating extortion. Participants focused on the Homologated Investigation Protocol for forced disappearances and the development of the National Forensic Data Bank (BNDF) and the Integral System of Forensic Capabilities (SICAF) to improve human identification through scientific data.

State prosecutors, including representatives from Yucatán and Zacatecas, participated in building these national agreements. Officials emphasized the importance of federal-state coordination to reduce impunity, particularly regarding extortion and the implementation of new technological tools to improve justice administration.
