National League hockey returns with Zürich as favorites

The Swiss National League is set to resume this Tuesday. ZSC Lions (Zürich) enter the season as strong favorites, bolstered by the appointment of former NHL coach Claude Julien, who brings extensive experience and a Stanley Cup title to the team.

Zürich has strengthened its roster with the return of Simon Knak and the addition of Tim Berni and Malte Strömwall. Meanwhile, several French-speaking clubs are positioned to challenge for the top six spots. Genève-Servette, last season's semi-finalists, maintain a consistent core of international players while adding Untersander, Henauer, Johnny Kneubühler, and Nicolas Müller to their lineup under new coach Sam Hallam. Other notable contenders include Fribourg and Lausanne, both of which are prioritizing roster stability for the upcoming campaign.
