Political parties remain divided on the composition of the next government. The Social Democratic Party (PSD) has proposed Sorin Grindeanu for the premiership, suggesting either a minority government or a coalition centered around the PSD. Conversely, the National Liberal Party (PNL) and USR have rejected collaboration with the PSD, with PNL supporting Siegfried Mureșan and some members advocating for a technocratic government led by Ilie Bolojan.

UDMR leader Kelemen Hunor stated that his party will support a government once PNL and PSD reach a common understanding, while warning that a failure to invest a government could leave Ilie Bolojan in an interim role indefinitely. Amid the ongoing instability, President Dan noted that while he does not desire early elections, they can no longer be entirely excluded as a means to resolve the crisis.
