National Library of Indonesia receives book donation from China

The National Library of Indonesia (Perpusnas) has received a donation of 100 books from 11 Chinese publishers. The handover ceremony took place in Jakarta on Saturday, October 3.

The collection includes works covering various subjects such as Chinese culture, history, literature, science, technology, and language learning. One notable inclusion is the English edition of the first volume of ‘Governance of China under the Leadership of Xi Jinping’.

Wang Siping, the cultural counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, stated that the books are intended to provide a window for Indonesian readers to learn about China and to facilitate exchange between the intellectual and academic communities of both nations.

E. Aminudin Aziz, Head of the National Library, noted that the donation aims to expand public access to knowledge. He expressed interest in exploring further cooperation, including publication exchanges and professional discussions between authors and publishers.
