National Library of Wales to launch Kyffin Williams immersive experience

The National Library of Wales has announced the launch of the ‘Kyffin Williams Experience’, an immersive exhibition designed to celebrate the life and work of the renowned Welsh artist. The project marks 20 years since Williams donated a significant portion of his estate to the library in Aberystwyth.

The collection includes over 1,200 works on paper, 200 oil paintings, and more than 300 original prints. The new experience aims to present the artist's work through innovative methods, including transformed rooms that allow visitors to step into his collections of landscapes and animals to experience them in a lifelike manner.

Cabinet Minister for Culture and Sport, Heledd Fychan, described Williams’ contribution to Welsh art and culture as ‘immeasurable’. Library Chief Executive Rhodri Llwyd Morgan noted that the institution's relationship with the artist spans over 70 years, dating back to the first purchase of his work in 1949.
