National Lottery Authority to end manual paper-based lotto operations

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has announced that all manual, paper-based lotto operations will cease nationwide starting Thursday, October 1, 2026. This directive applies to all Private Lotto Operators (PLOs), agents, and writers operating under the Authority.

In a public notice, the NLA warned that any operators failing to comply with the deadline will be barred from operating and may face legal action. To continue participating in the sector, private operators are encouraged to transition by registering as Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs).

Interested parties can begin the registration process by contacting NLA sales managers at regional or district offices. The Authority has also designated Aisha Tackie as a contact person for LMC registration inquiries.
