National Lottery survey reveals how UK players would share jackpot winnings

A survey of 2,000 people conducted by the National Lottery has revealed how participants in the United Kingdom would distribute wealth if they won a major jackpot. The research was released ahead of a £318 million Powerball draw scheduled for Tuesday.

According to the findings, 61 per cent of respondents would share their winnings with a partner, while 52 per cent would share with their children. Nearly half (47 per cent) indicated they would give money to friends, and 16 per cent mentioned they might even share with pets.

While 97 per cent of those surveyed believe winnings should be shared, the generosity tends to remain within close social circles. Only 10 per cent would share with people outside of family and friends. Additionally, 35 per cent of participants expressed an intention to donate a portion of their fortune to charity.
