National Map of Gender Violence recognized at SVRI Forum

Brazil's National Map of Gender Violence received international recognition at the SVRI Forum held in Bangkok, Thailand, from October 5 to 9. The forum brought together 193 specialists from over 40 countries to evaluate more than 2,100 research works focused on preventing and combating sexual violence.

The Map is an initiative of the Senate's Observatory on Women against Violence (OMV), developed in partnership with Instituto Natura and the organization Gênero e Número. Launched in 2023, the tool integrates gender violence data through public-private partnerships to support evidence-based public policies, increase transparency, and enhance protections for women.

Maria Teresa Firmino Prado Mauro, coordinator of the OMV, stated that the recognition demonstrates the Senate's ability to produce knowledge and solutions that can serve as global models for addressing violence against women and girls.
