National Meteorological Service issues quarterly climate forecast
The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued a quarterly climate forecast for October, November, and December, driven by the development of the ‘Super Niño’ phenomenon. The report anticipates weather patterns that deviate from seasonal norms across various regions.
In Argentina, much of the territory is expected to experience average temperatures below normal, particularly in the northwest, west, and southwest of Buenos Aires province. There is also a predicted decrease in the frequency of extreme maximum temperatures. Several municipalities in Buenos Aires are expected to see rainfall levels above average.
In the Chubut region, the forecast indicates a higher probability of a wetter-than-normal quarter for the eastern and northernmost areas. While the east may see slightly below-average temperatures, the central, western, and southwestern zones are expected to experience warmer-than-average values.
