National Motorcyclists Council launches UK theft prevention plan
The National Motorcyclists Council (NMC) in the United Kingdom has introduced a ten-point action plan aimed at combating motorcycle theft, reckless riding, and related criminal activities. The strategy seeks to foster cooperation between the police, government, industry, and rider associations to address issues such as vehicle tracking, improved law enforcement, and driver training.
According to the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA), motorcycle thefts in 2025 were nearly 15 percent lower than in 2022. However, the NMC emphasizes that motorcycles are frequently used in other crimes, including drug trafficking and thefts from businesses. The proposed plan includes technical solutions, better data collection, and more targeted police operations to tackle these issues at their source.
