National Museum in Zrenjanin collects artifacts from Slavica factory

The Ethnological Department of the National Museum in Zrenjanin is collecting documentation and artifacts related to the former Slavica textile factory to preserve its industrial history. The museum is seeking products, catalogs, photographs, documentation, awards, uniforms, and other items related to the company’s operations.

Founded in 1956, Slavica evolved from a craft association specializing in handmade quilts and mattresses into a major textile producer. By the mid-1970s, the factory employed approximately 330 workers and produced roughly 30,000 pairs of trousers and 40,000 pieces of children's clothing monthly. During its peak, the company held export contracts with countries including Germany, Denmark, and Libya.
