National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens named European Art Museum Award finalist

The National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) has been named as a finalist for the European Art Museum Award. The museum is among six institutions selected for the shortlist by the European Museum Academy.

Other finalists include the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the FENIX Migration Museum in Rotterdam, and the National Gallery of Slovenia in Ljubljana. The award focuses on the social role of art museums, recognizing innovative practices and ideas that foster a meaningful connection with the public.

Samuel Gallacher, President of the Award's Jury, stated that the shortlisted museums represent a standard of excellence due to their relevance to contemporary societal issues and their commitment to engaging audiences beyond superficial impressions.
