National Museum of Egyptian Civilization hosts Hangzhou craft exhibition

To commemorate 70 years of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization has opened the ‘CREATE HANGZHOU 2026’ exhibition. The event showcases the traditional crafts and cultural heritage of Hangzhou.

Dr. Tayeb Abbas, CEO of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and Yu Xinping, Director of the Hangzhou Cultural and Creative Industries Development Center, inaugurated the two-day exhibition. The display includes Chinese seal carving, creative products inspired by intangible cultural heritage, and Tonglu paper-cutting art. The exhibition also features interactive workshops designed to introduce visitors to traditional Chinese craftsmanship and techniques.

Officials noted that the exhibition serves as a bridge for cultural dialogue and a model for cooperation between the two nations, aiming to strengthen partnerships in the fields of heritage, archaeology, and museum studies.
