National Night Out events take place in Los Angeles County and Lake Charles

On Tuesday, August 4, police departments across Los Angeles County, California, and the Lake Charles Police Department in Louisiana hosted free community gatherings under the National Night Out program. In Los Angeles, cities such as San Gabriel, Chino Hills, El Segundo, Culver City, Glendale, Alhambra, Montebello and Monrovia organized activities including games, food trucks, K‑9 demonstrations, inflatable bounce houses, live police displays and informational booths to foster neighborhood ties with officers and first responders.

In Lake Charles, the event was held at the Lake Charles Event Center and featured similar family‑friendly attractions—bounce houses, a jambalaya cook‑off, a car show, and live demonstrations by SWAT, crime‑scene investigators and motorcycle officers—aimed at promoting public‑safety awareness and stronger police‑community relationships.
