National Open University of Nigeria appoints acting bursar

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has appointed Ramatu Ibrahim as Acting Bursar to ensure continuity in the institution’s financial administration. The appointment follows the death of the substantive Bursar, Nasir Marafa, who was reportedly shot dead in Zamfara State.

Ibrahim, who previously served as the Deputy Bursar of Treasury, was selected due to her extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and treasury operations. The university management stated that her background positions her to maintain efficient, transparent, and accountable financial services during this transition.

The appointment was approved by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Uduma Uduma and the Pro-Chancellor, Malam Isa Yuguda. The university has declared a three-day mourning period for the late Marafa.
