National Opera of Greece launches pre‑sale for Alternative Stage 2026 season

The Alternative Stage of the National Opera of Greece will begin its pre‑sale on 31 July 2026 at 12:00. The sale covers six productions scheduled from October to December 2026, opening with the new ballet “Τόσαις φοραίς τόσο κοντά να είμαι”.

The October programme includes two festival cycles: the Byzantine Music Days, curated by Zaharia Karouni, featuring four concerts of traditional and contemporary Byzantine repertoire, and the Contemporary Music Days, overseen by Giannis Angelakis, presenting eighteen concerts with new commissions, premieres and tributes to 20th‑ and 21st‑century composers. The November‑December schedule adds the Old Music Days, offering nine concerts that explore medieval and later repertoire through historically informed and modern interpretations.

The season also features collaborations with the Ergon Ensemble, the Hellenic Radio Chorus, the Union of Greek Composers, and visual artists such as Patrizia Apergi and sculptor Petros Touloudis, highlighting a multidisciplinary artistic dialogue.
