National Opera of Greece to present four productions at Dimitria Festival

The National Opera of Greece (NOG) will participate in the 61st Dimitria Festival in Thessaloniki, scheduled to take place from October 1 to October 26, 2026. This involvement is part of a programmatic agreement with the Ministry of Culture and local authorities.

The NOG program features four distinct productions held at the Royal Theater and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Concert Hall:

• Viva la mamma!: A modern, satirical comic opera directed by Sofia Paschou, based on Gaetano Donizetti’s 1827 work. • Karagiozis Rigoletto: An original shadow opera by Dimitris Dimopoulos and Alexandros Melissinos. • The Murderess: A melodramatic adaptation of Giorgos Koumentakis’ work, featuring Karyofyllia Karampeti and conducted by Markellos Chryssikopoulos. • À Paris tous les deux: A cinematic opera pastiche by Vasilis Loura and Michalis Asthenidis, blending opera with film, featuring soloists Chrysa Maliamani, Anna Stylianaki, and Manos Kokkonis.
