National Organization for Medicines warns of herbal honey containing undeclared drugs
The National Organization for Medicines (EOF) has issued a warning regarding the product ‘Tongkat Ali Honey Herbal Mixed Paste’, which is marketed online as a herbal honey mixture for enhancing libido and sexual performance. Following information from German authorities, laboratory analyses revealed that the product contains undeclared pharmaceutical substances: sildenafil and tadalafil.
The warning specifically concerns batch number 12122029. These substances are active ingredients found in prescription medications for erectile dysfunction and are not herbal components. The EOF warns that consuming these substances without medical supervision poses serious health risks, particularly for individuals with cardiovascular diseases or those taking nitrates, as they can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure, myocardial infarction, or stroke.
Consumers who have purchased this specific batch are urged not to consume it and to contact the EOF immediately to report where the product was obtained.
