National Para e-Sports Competition held in Gyeongju
The 2026 National Para e-Sports Competition was held in Gyeongju, South Korea, from the 21st to the 23rd. The event hosted 438 participants, including 323 athletes, competing across seven different categories.
Competition categories included PC games such as ‘League of Legends’ and ‘FC Online’, console games like ‘Nintendo Switch Tennis’ and ‘Bowling’, and XR (Extended Reality) sports including wheelchair racing and indoor rowing. The event was hosted by the Korea Para Sports Association and the Korea Creative Content Agency, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Organizers highlighted the growing significance of para e-sports as a platform where individuals can demonstrate their capabilities regardless of the type or degree of their disability. The competition showcased high levels of engagement, with many athletes expressing a desire to compete in mainstream non-disabled e-sports tournaments in the future.
