National parks in France announce autumn programming
National parks in France, including Port-Cros and Calanques, have launched diverse autumn event programs scheduled to run through late 2026.
In Port-Cros National Park, activities focus on heritage and science. The Fort du Pradeau in Hyères is hosting the permanent exhibition ‘Rendre visible l’invisible’, featuring guided tours of Mediterranean flora, fauna, and geology every Wednesday and Sunday. Special Halloween-themed events for families, including creative workshops and scavenger hunts, are also planned.
Additionally, the Port-Cros National Park will host its second scientific meeting on November 17 at the University of Toulon campus, featuring presentations from four researchers and academics.
In the Calanques National Park, the seventh edition of ‘L'Automne des Calanques’ will take place between September 26 and November 1, 2026. Spanning Marseille, Cassis, La Ciotat, and the Frioul islands, the program includes approximately 50 events such as hikes, workshops, conferences, and documentary screenings. The series aims to connect the region's natural landscape with its history of land use and traditional pastoral practices.
