National Peace Council seeks aid after Accra office flooded

Heavy rains on June 29, 2026 caused floodwaters to inundate the National Peace Council's headquarters in Accra, Ghana. The water damaged office furniture, electronic equipment and stored documents, disrupting the Council's daily operations.

Council Executive Secretary Dr. George Amoh led an emergency effort to salvage equipment and recover important materials, then appealed to the government, development partners, corporate organisations and the public for assistance to replace the damaged items and restore normal functions. He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to its constitutional mandate of promoting peace, dialogue and conflict prevention across the country.
