National People's Power to launch island-wide rallies in Sri Lanka

The National People's Power (NPP) is launching a series of large-scale public rallies across Sri Lanka beginning September 5. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is expected to lead the campaign, addressing supporters at various locations throughout the country to consolidate the ruling party's support base.

Minister Nalinda Jayatissa announced the initiative, noting that the rallies will span multiple districts as part of the NPP's ongoing political program. Alongside the rallies, the party is conducting a reorganization of its divisional councils at the Grama Niladhari division level. Jayatissa also challenged opposition parties to demonstrate any alleged anti-government sentiment through public mobilization and street demonstrations rather than through statements.
