National Performing Arts Circuit expands to Puebla and Ciudad Juárez
The National Performing Arts Circuit in Independent Spaces 2026 is expanding its reach across Mexico, with upcoming presentations scheduled in Puebla and Ciudad Juárez. Created by the Mexican Government's Secretariat of Culture, the initiative aims to revitalize the economy of artistic companies and strengthen the national network of independent venues. For the 2026 cycle, 53 projects have been selected to participate across eight different circuits.
In Puebla, the circuit will feature four stage productions from October 23 to 25 at three independent venues: Teatro Melpómene, the Centro de Bienestar Social de Xonaca (CEBIS), and the Teatro Taller de Investigación de Experimentación Mexicano (TETIEM). Participating companies include groups from Morelos, Tlaxcala, and Puebla, performing works suitable for audiences aged 8 and older.
In Ciudad Juárez, the circuit will be part of the 11th International Theater Festival Without Borders, hosted at the Centro Cultural Telón de Arena. Scheduled performances include the monologue ‘Mika y su Ozo de peluche’ on October 24 and 25, and ‘Gravidez entre paréntesis’ by the Chihuahua-based company Títeres y Marionetas El Tenderete on November 11 and 12. The program also includes the piece ‘Cuerdas’ by Los Tradicionales.
