National Petroleum Authority Deputy CEO Dr. Dramani Bukari laid to rest

Dr. Dramani Bukari, the Deputy Chief Executive of Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority (NPA), has been laid to rest in Damongo in the Savannah Region. His burial followed Islamic traditions, including a Janazah prayer at his family residence and a sermon regarding the inevitability of death.

Dr. Bukari passed away on August 11, 2026, following a short illness. During his tenure, he was instrumental in leading the Authority’s Centre of Excellence and supported the implementation of the 24-Hour Economy Programme within the downstream petroleum sector.

Prior to the burial, his remains were received at the Accra International Airport by the Sector Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, alongside NPA Chief Executive Godwin Tameklo and other leadership members. The NPA described his passing as an irreplaceable loss, noting his significant contributions to public service and the petroleum industry.
