National Railway Museum launches music concert series
The National Railway Museum in Entroncamento has launched the ‘Music in the Museum’ initiative as part of the commemorative program for the 170th anniversary of the railway in Portugal. The project aims to integrate artistic proposals into the museum's daily experience, offering visitors a sensory connection between chamber music and industrial heritage.
The concert cycle will take place on various Saturday afternoons between September and November 2026. These 50-minute performances, starting at 15:30, are held in emblematic spaces selected to match the artistic identity of each program. Participation is included in the regular museum admission fee.
The programming includes the premiere of an original composition created to mark the inaugural journey of the Portuguese railway, inspired by texts exploring railway history and the concept of progress.
