National Repair Days to promote sustainability and employment

The National Repair Days (Journées Nationales de la Réparation) are scheduled to take place from October 15 to 18, 2026. This year’s theme focuses on building a scalable model for repair.

In France, the home service company Murfy highlights repair as a solution to three major concerns: purchasing power, employment, and professional retraining. According to ADEME, repair costs approximately 35% of the price of new equipment, while Murfy reports costs under 20%. The company also aims to expand its workforce, planning 1,500 recruitments and training sessions by 2027 through its Murfy Academy, which offers six-month retraining programs for various professionals.

In the Western Territory, local events will be held at various waste collection centers from October 14 to 17. These sessions include free workshops, diagnostics, and advice on extending the lifespan of objects through repair and reuse.
